5.0 star star star star starI was very happy that Dr Mesulam took the time to review my MRI and medical records before our appointment. Through conversation and tests, he ruled out some possibilities and explained next steps for further diagnosis and treatment.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderWhile Dr Mesulam is extremely knowledgeable, he lacks empathy. The manner in which he leads his appointments is almost authoritarian....do not speak unless spoken to, keep responses succinct, and do not ask for feedback of any kind.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderWhile Dr. Mesulam is very professional and knowledgeable for his field. I wish he was more friendly and open with his patients. Not so serious all the time. I would not argue his genius : '

5.0 star star star star starHe is a great doctor and pleasant to work with. He listens to me and directed in his work! An occasional smile or jovial comment can enlighten things and help you feel better. He is very knowledgeable in his work and I appreciate his approach in helping me with my understanding of my Alzheimer's issue and I am so thankful for having been referred to him.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
