5.0 star star star star starDr. Ryan was extremely attentive, answered all my questions. The surgery was ridiculously successful, left me with an amazingly low amount of pain to be dealt with, and completely handled the issue at hand. I would recommend him highly to anyone and he is abdominal surgeries.

5.0 star star star star starSee above. He was very patient , even when I was melting down or agitated. I did not “get to select†him as my surgeon . I would never have found anyone that would be his equal. Dr. Ryan and the ER team worked quickly, and professionally.

5.0 star star star star starI could write a book on him. He got me into surgery and did a great job explaining everything during my stay as well as after care. I know, “ just doing his job†however he always took all the time that I needed to discuss all steps and what to expect next. it was way more than “ doing his jobâ€He put me at ease through this long recovery. Was also very through in including my husband who was doing wound care between visits and took him time answering his questions and showing him each step to the procedure. I could go on annd on but will spare the reader from my rambling. Suffice it to say my entire family considers him the best choice. Since I came in through the ER it was my luck he was there. Thanks for the question.

5.0 star star star star starDr Ryan literally saved my life a few weeks ago . I would give him higher than a 10 if I could . IHe is not rushed, he listened to every one of my concerns( which is his job I know) but his bedside manner is so comforting and he explains things to my husband . I could go on and on. He did everything possible to give me. As much information as possible.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Ryan took his time to explain everything about my problem. He answered all our questions. He explain what needs to be done. He would not do it until all my tests came back from other doctors before he would proceed with surgery as I also have a heart condition. He was very professional and he talked to you as a friend a very caring person.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Ryan has been the best surgeon I've ever had. He is caring, kind, extremely knowledgeable and most of all curious. He wants to find out why you don't feel well. He is the reason I'm am getting well as quickly as I am. I amvery lucky to have Dr. Ryan as my doctor.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Ryan is the first out of all the surgeons I’ve had over the last 5 years that I’ve actually met and established a relationship with before surgery. He makes it a priority to allocate as much time as needed to open a two-way street of communication. He listens as well as thoroughly explains the condition warranting surgery, all the risks and benefits of the surgery, and the details of how it’s performed in a way that is kind and conversational. My particular medical history is a bit more complicated than the average person but he didn’t express hesitation towards accepting my case, which is often not how doctors have reacted to me in the past. Overall I think that while a surgeon’s experience and skills are essential to excellent and safe patient care and outcomes, bedside manner and how they approach you as an individual person is equally important and he has easily made a very stressful medical situation as comfortable as possible. I left without any additional questions or major concerns and I appreciate all the time he gave me to ensure I understood exactly what I would be consenting to and looking towards.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
