Bio

Dr. Andruska treats a broad array of tumors including brain and spine cancer, head and neck cancer, lung cancer, lymphoma, gastrointestinal cancer, breast cancer, genitourinary (prostate, bladder and renal) cancer, gynecologic cancer and skin cancer. He specializes in applying proton therapy to complex reirradiation cases. He has expertise in using proton therapy, intensity modulated radiotherapy, Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiotherapy, brachytherapy and radiopharmaceuticals. Dr. Andruska has a passion for translational and clinical research, and aims to use research to further optimize patient outcomes. He has over 50 publications, including in journals like The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of American Medical Association, and Journal of Clinical Oncology. A few of his studies are currently cited in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network management guidelines. He has been actively involved in several trials funded by the National Cancer Institute over the past decade.

This was the first time I had met Dr Andruska. He seems like a really nice guy and a good physician. He took over my case as my original doctor left Northwestern. I suspect that as I get to know Dr. Andruska more, that I would rate him even higher.

Dr. Andruska is the bomb! He listens. He explains. He is patient. He takes me needs into consideration. He is always kind. Out of all the doctors at NW, he is the one I trust the most. He actually looks at my scans and explains and tells me his opinion. I have the utmost trust in him.

I trust and respect and appreciate Dr. Andruska because he is open and honest. He tells me his opinion/diagnosis in a straightforward manner. He spends enough time to allow me to ask all my questions and discuss my fears. He is such a positive man even though we're dealing with an unpleasant disease

Dr. Andruska designs a treatment plan based on who you are - not just by the numbers. He considered my risk tolerance, lifestyle and desired outcome. He met and exceeded my expectations. I looked at treatment centers all over the USA and kept coming back to NW. So glad I made the decision to have my treatment here and especially with Dr. Andruska.
