HIV Treatments

There is no cure for HIV, but treatment with antiretroviral therapy (ART) can help people infected with HIV live long and healthy lives.

ART comprises four different classes of medications that prevent HIV from reproducing in a patient’s body. ART does not rid the body of the virus, but it does prevent the virus from damaging the immune system further. In some cases, ART can even reverse damage that has been done.

The best results occur when you get tested and start treatment as soon as possible.
