Specialists and Care Centers
Concussion Specialists and Care Centers
The Northwestern Medicine neurosciences programs provide treatment for a full range of neurological disorders, including headaches and concussions.
The clinical mission is to provide the highest quality care and treatment for patients with neurological disorders, while advancing new therapies and uncovering the causes and cures of neurological diseases.
Our physicians have areas of subspecialty interest in neurology and many of them are national leaders in their field.
Northwestern Medicine Concussion Clinic at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital
We care for children and adults who have had a concussion. The clinic is led by Julie Witkowski, MD, and Liridon Zendeli, MD, and both are doctors who specialize in rehabilitation after brain injuries.
Our team treats many concussion symptoms, from common ones to the more complex. They help people who were just diagnosed and people who still have symptoms weeks, months or years later.
We will tailor your care plan to fit your needs and recovery goals.
Your care team may include:
- Physical, occupational and speech therapists
- Balance and vestibular specialists
- Psychologists and neuropsychologists
- Case managers
- Dietitians
- Neuro-optometrists
Together, your team will:
- Do a full evaluation.
- Work with you to set personal goals.
- Create a care plan to support your recovery.
We are with you at every step. Our goal is to reduce your symptoms and help you get back to the activities and things that matters most.
