3.0 star star star star_border star_borderDr. Nelson is a lovely woman but my exam took no more than 3 minutes. She reviewed my lab results from the blood draw, saw that there was no change from a year ago, and after feeling for swollen lymph nodes around my neck Dr. Nelson told me : ' OK, you are stable so wewill see you a year from now'.Without question I am pleased that my CLL case remain indolent after 22 years since dxwith this illness...however, the actual physical exam element was quite superficial.

4.0 star star star star star_borderDr. Nelson seems very knowledgeable. She told me she spoke with the PA to find out the reason why I was there for the visit. All she did was ask me some questions and order blood work. I did hear from her today with the results of one test. I feel I need more answers from her about my blood tests and what they mean.

5.0 star star star star starThe is absolutely no one like her. She is professional, kind, caring, takes the time to listen not just to her patients, but also the family. She has gone above and beyond for both my father and mother these past 5 years, and there are no amount of words to thank her for all she has done for them. We consider her part of the family.

5.0 star star star star starDr Nelson has been spot-on in her plan to get me well…She is an impressive young professional with us committed to the medical care of her patient…that’s me, and In 6+ months, I have gone from developing a blood-clot in my left leg from my knee to the groin that was due to a fall where I broke my left arm.And as of this week when I had a follow-up Venus ultra-sound and learned the blood-clot is now all but gone. Therefore, Dr Nelson has taken me off of the blood-thinner, Eliquis…Music to my husband and my earsI am 81, and it is an amazing feeling to come as far as I have in these months Uber Dr Nelson’s care…Thanks so much Doctor Valerie Nelson…you are awesome!!!!

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
