5.0 star star star star starDr. Bethke knows what he is doing and he doesn't seem annoyed when I ask questions. I also appreciated that he called me earlier this week with my biopsy results. That gave me time to think about the results before my appointment. Lastly, I like how is he teaching the next generation of breast surgeons. I think that is important.

5.0 star star star star starI've had Dr. Bethke for multiple surgeries and I am grateful to have a skilled, professional surgeon. I have so much respect and trust for Dr and along with that, every interaction with him has been positive. He takes time to inform you of your situation, and has a very calming personality. Although he sees so many patients, you never feel rushed or that you are a number. It also gives the patient confidence in him, when you truly feel he enjoys his job. I would highly recommend Dr. Bethke to anyone who has breast cancer.

5.0 star star star star starEveryone told me that he was great. And I wasn't sure what that meant because my overall experience of receiving a cancer diagnosis over the fall months has been mixed. But I could not be happier with this surgery. And I'm really thankful that I could return to normal right away. And I'm amazed by how normal it already looks.

5.0 star star star star starAlthough I just had consult with him today and surgery is later. I give him 10 out of 10. His bedside manner, calm demeanor, knowledge, attitude, attention & confidence in his work truly put me at ease. I have read reviews of him which all was gold star before but after meeting him & his team I know why he is one of the number 1 in the country. Truly an amazing doctor.

5.0 star star star star starDr Bethke is very soft spoken when providing information which is something desperately needed when speaking to a cancer patient as emotions are very fragile. I never got the sense of frustration from him as I asked questions several times to allow me to process information through all of my angst.

5.0 star star star star starA very experienced, renowned surgeon who I feel confident in his care. I have had him as a surgeon in two lumpectomies and each one of them went so smoothly with minimal scarring. He really cares about his patients and takes the time to let you know how well cared for you are, and he is in his work.

5.0 star star star star starBethke is a maestro. He knows what he is doing, has a solid team to back him up. He knows just what to say at a time when your mind is filled with worst case scenarios. I bounced back from the lumpectomy and was on a plane to welcome my new grandson days after surgery.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Bethke understood the stress of the situation for the patient, gave me written materials that helped me navigate all of the pre-op requirements (and there were many) and clearly explained my initial diagnosis and post-op pathology report. His demeanor was very professional, and also warm and friendly which made a big difference in a situation where I was very uncertain.

5.0 star star star star starHe is very kind and concerned for his patient. He took time to explain and to be sure I understood my procedure. Asked if there were any questions I might have concerning my outcome and gave me piece of mind.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
