5.0 star star star star starDr. Boike is Intelligent, thorough, caring, personable, approachable, and closely listens during visits. He doesn’t rush. He explains things in a way a person with minimal medical knowledge can understand. He asks if there are any questions or concerns before the visit is concluded. He then summarizes what he said during the exam/visit.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Boike took time to know my file before meeting me. Once in the room he was patient with my questions and spent time giving thoughtful and knowledgeable answers. It was nice to feel like the first visit wasn't just an opportunity to get to know my illness but also me as a person.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Boike had a professional manner that was personable. He was able to put medical terms into words that were understandable. He thoroughly explained my condition (which was far more than my local GI doctor did), what causes this illness, gave suggestions for me to improve my health, ran tests to rule out other conditions, and check on liver enzymes, as well as reassure me. I went into Dr. Boike's office, a terrified patient and left, feeling relieved I was being treated by a doctor who was not only highly qualified, but had very good communication skills, and who cared..As for Northwestern Memorial, we have had excellent care and treatment for family members from thyroid cancer, salivary tumors, cardiac issues, to polycystic kidney disease (Lurie's). We trust this medical facility.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
