At Northwestern Medicine, our patient’s feedback is important to us. While different care providers have their own unique strengths, we strive to be as transparent as possible with our quality of care.
Dr Gryzlo was friendly, knew my chart/MRI findings, and had gotten a full report from the resident and student. He showed me the MRI and discussed the findings and appropriate treatment (arthroscopy). because I will be out of the country for a month in mid November, he graciously got my surgery scheduled for next week, giving me an idea what my post op limitation s would be. I am a physician myself, and I felt he treated me like a colleague, and explained things at my level. There was plenty of opportunity for questions.
Dr. Stephen Gryzlo was my second opinion doctor. I was extremely pleased with my appointment. He was very compassionate, showed concern for my injury. He did a through explanation of my rotary cuff injury, showed me all the images of my MRI. He examined me to determine the extent of injury and explained my options of continuing my physical therapy verses surgery. Also explained post surgery details of the pain and hours PT hard work I would need to do in a positive way. I would highly recommend him to my family or friends.
Dr. Gryzlo has an excellent bedside manner; listened to my concerns and responded to them , as well as helping me be optimistic about future recovery. He "humanized" the visit by having a discussion for a minute about the book I was reading and what he likes to read.
Dr. Gryzlo is the best MD I have ever had care for me. From the first visit, to surgery, PT, and my final f/u he has shown great care and understanding for my well being and recovery. I am truly grateful to him!!
I'm writing this to include my first visit. Dr. Gryzlo is the epitome of what a physician should be - thorough, patient, informative with a sense of humor. Even tho he had a full schedule, he never gave the impression of being rushed and took the time to thoroughly explain things.
