Always helpful and patient. Love how he informs us (the parents) about our daughters health and is very knowledgeable and can explain to us in ways we understand. Highly recommend for pediatric care.

Dr. Barsella is honestly my new favorite at the practice. He goes into great detail and I never feel rushed like I have with some of the other doctors in the practice. I’ve been taking both of my kids there since they were born, and will choose him as my new daughter’s doctor I am expecting.

Dr. Bardella heard my concerns and is taking the time to develop a positive patient doctor relationship with my son. I really appreciate his patience and genuine interest in doing what is best for him; you’d think that is what most pediatricians would do but that hasn’t been my experience in the past.

I walked in with my child crying not wanting to cooperate. Dr. Barsella was patient and built my child’s trust in order to do his exam. He gave her options when possible giving her a sense of control.

He's got a great bed side manner, connects with kids, gives you all the info you need, asks if you have any questions and takes his time. Also got a very timely call back with test results. When he left the roommate 4 yr old daughter said "I LOVE that doctor!" I will probably be changing her primary from Vogt (since she never seems to be available when I need an appt) to Dr. Barbsella. I like his bedside mannar better anyway.

He is always super knowledgeable, kind and able to answer all questions. He is up to date with evidence based practice, relies on the science and date. He never makes me feel ashamed or dumb for asking a question. He always seems eager to help. He always considers the parents perspective and comfort level when deciding on plan of care. Nothing is set in stone, plans are fluid

Dr. Barsella has been a great doctor for our baby; care and treatment plans have been top notch and his demeanor works well for us. He is flexible enough to guide us to our own decisions in what is best for our child, but his knowledgeable recommendations also put us at ease as first time parents.

My daughter was sick, I was stressed out. He took the time needed, and even had us both laughing. Caring demeanor and clear at explaining information on our level. In the words of my 7 year old “That doctor is great!”

He is great. We appreciate his approach with using medicine only when absolutely needed, and felt that he answered all of our questions. He seemed genuinely concerned about our child, and took the time during our child’s appointment to talk with him and make sure our son was comfortable around him. He contacted us back directly when we had a follow up question via MyChart, and was very informative as always.

Dr Vogt is our primary doctor and we absolutely love her. We have seen Dr Barsella twice for sick visits. He is extremely thorough and knowledgeable. He takes the time needed to explain everything and answer questions. He also has a great bedside manner.

Very knowledgeable, explained self are to my teenager in a way that was easy to understand for her, but didn’t baby her. I appreciate how through he was and how he listened to her and my thoughts/concerns as well. Very impressed! My teenager even approved!

We met Dr. Barsella because he happened to be rounding in the hospital during our stay. We decided to use him as our pediatrician because he is very knowledgeable and thorough, explained things easily and also was very personable.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
