5.0 star star star star starDr Teven welcomed my questions and honored my concerns. I felt listened to and appreciated his expressing confidence about my surgical outcome. He carefully reviewed with me all the details of what needed to happen on the day of my surgery. I feel comfortable that he has done his homework and will honor my preferences as much as possible within the boundaries of providing excellent care for me.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Teven is kind, understanding, and very knowledgeable. I had an exorbitant amount of questions and he answered each one with compassion and patience. He made me feel seen and heard, and allowed me the time I needed to process his answers as I worked through my list of questions. To me, he embodies what it means to practice patient-centered care and I’m grateful to have had that experience with him and his team. Discussing breast reconstruction due to a cancer diagnosis made me feel very vulnerable and exposed. Dr. Teven’s demeanor, respectful communication style, patience, and willingness to accommodate my requests, helped me feel supported and safe, which is an indescribable gift to give to a patient and speaks volumes about him as a physician.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Teven is absolutely amazing. He takes his interactions with his patients seriously. He is empathetic, able to explain things so they are understandable to a non- medically trained patient and demonstrates vast knowledge as to solutions to problems. If only every Doctor could emulate Dr. Teven.

5.0 star star star star starI have dealt with a wide variety of doctors through the years. I have yet to be disappointed with any of my doctors at NWMedicine- Dr. Teven is at the top of my list. He is so warm and friendly, takes as much time as is necessary to explain what is going on , and above all clearly explains everything.

5.0 star star star star starDr Teven was professional, friendly, reassuring, and very knowledgeable. His bedside manner is the best of any doctor I have ever seen. He patiently answered my questions, explained that he positioned stitches from the excisional facial biopsies in creases where they would be the least noticeable, and gave excellent after care instructions. I appreciated, too, that he explained during each biopsy each step that he was going to take before he did it and what sensation I might feel.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
