5.0 star star star star starWe havebeen very lucky to meet Dr. Kim and her team: we appreciated the special attention she took to our case, giving us hope and yet being realistic about our chances. I always felt very well taken care of, and extremely quick in replying to all my questions!

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderI appreciated that dr. Kim took time to explain what she was doing throughout the procedure, and know that she is not familiar with my medical history. However, once she noticed an issue she began apologizing and quickly left the room, leaving me feeling like the worst had happened but not knowing what she had seen. I have had a very challenging fertility experience and today felt unduly stressful and traumatic. I still don’t understand exactly what is happening, or how we are where we are. I just know I have surgery to remove something next week. I would have hoped for a bit more consideration and patience for my feelings as a patient.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderWhile I think she provides an excellent quality of care clinically and I am grateful for that, I wish she had delivered the traumatizing and life-altering news about my being completely infertile with more sensitivity and empathy.

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderShe doesn’t have any warmth when delivering information and does not give me hope that I’ll ever get pregnant or give me any hope that they’ll find a reason why I can’t get pregnant

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderI appreciate her transparency and directness. But the news about my health was not positive, and I found her style too abrasive for me. I need a softer touch when the news is not good. I also found that she spoke very quickly and it felt rushed. She’s talking to patients about these procedures every day, but for me it’s all new information and I found her hard to follow.

5.0 star star star star starHer professional bedside, her thorough documentation, and her collegiate handoff. Dr. Kim made sure to consult with my regular doctor; this flagged it so my regular doctor called me to follow up. THIS was HUGE for me.

5.0 star star star star starShe is outstanding. She’s extremely encouraging but above all she is honest and transparent. She will not sugarcoat your situation, she lays it all out on the table and gives you a realistic picture of what can and might not happen. That’s what’s most important.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
