5.0 star star star star starWe have been working together on my case for a couple years now, and after today's appointment he sees I am not the same person he met at our initial evaluation and will have new tests ordered to help determine what is going on in my stupid long-COVID brain

5.0 star star star star starI appreciate Dr Cahan resolving the schedule issue and taking time to listen to my concerns and dispel my fears of worsening symptoms. I am a bit apprehensive of trying new meds because of continuing blurry vision and dry eye, which are listed as common side effects of Cymbalta. I’m not sure I want to complicate vision issues before upcoming cataract revision surgery.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Cahan was aware that I had been to the Memory Care Clinic with clients and am familiar with the standard tests. He adjusted the tests, so they were unique and facilitate a diagnostic examination.

4.0 star star star star star_borderThough very knowledgeable, one needs several appointments before he seems to show a sense of interest in the patient. Initially, there seemed to be little to no concern in my symptoms. He seemed bored when administering tests.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Cahan listens well and discusses the plan for your care with you so that you can understand all things involved. I especially like that I can ask him his opinion and various things and he will give me an honest one.

5.0 star star star star starExceptional care. Always takes time to explain things. Cross-references my records from other hospitals and doctors. He considers me and my life as one holistic person and how everything interacts. I’m not just a brain for him to analyze. He looks after me in totality. I trust him.

5.0 star star star star starThey dont make physicians like him. He is not only thorough he is thoughtful of all parties involved in the patient. As a daughter taking care of my elderly mother he is the ONLY doctor of all her providers to ask how I was doing and reminded me that I needed to take care of myself too. He also provided such wonderful resources to review.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
