5.0 star star star star starIt is the telling of two stories. Whilst having my blood pressure medicine being increased from 10mg to 20mg may come with a stigmatism for me, regarding having my CDL drivers license renewed every year, as opposed to every two years and life insurance rates, if I didn't have through my employer, it is a testament to her medical care. My prior 20 blood pressure readings indicated 60% were above guidelines of 140/90. I increased taking 1, 10mg [RX] tablet to taking taking 2, 10mg [RX] tablets daily, until current supply finished and I'm on a path to being a poster person, regarding blood pressure for a 62 year-old male. June 23, 24 & 25th BP readings 109/72, 121/72 and 130/77, respectively. The current sampling of BP readings is small, however, when reviewing the prior 20 readings in my file, there was no consecutive three day period of BP readings, with my blood pressure being within the 140/90 guidelines. Dr. Danielle M. Southerland provided excellent medical direction and care.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
