5.0 star star star star starEven though the power was out, Dr. Ayers came into our appointment, prepared with paper notes that he had prepared ahead not knowing there was a power outage— so we were able to have a full appointment, where he not only knew/had pertinent details of my case in front of him, but answered all my questions giving me good advice and data.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Ayers was well prepared and up to speed on previous test and visits. He explained his diagnosis, recommendations, and plan for moving forward, clearly. He answered my questions and took the time needed to make sure we were communicating with understanding Dr. Ayers “bed side manor†is excellent. I left his office confident I was in good hands.

4.0 star star star star star_borderHe seem to be very knowledgeable. I got the sense he was asking me for my input rather than recommending the best approach in some cases. They also seem to be a little negative in terms of painting the picture of how treatment will be. I don’t think that approach is necessarily wrong, but it was not a good fit for me.

5.0 star star star star starAs soon as Dr. Ayer’s entered the room I felt relaxed and comfortable with him. He explained everything in language that was easy to understand and did not rush through any part of the visit. I felt well cared for and he is a trustworthy doctor to have on my team.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
