Marianjoy Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program

Our distinctive residency program has been fostering the growth of resident physicians since 1994. Here, experienced faculty members provide invaluable exposure to the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), ensuring that our residents develop the skills they need to excel.

About Marianjoy's Residency Program

Our 36-month advanced residency program strikes an excellent balance between inpatient, outpatient and procedural training, so you receive comprehensive educational experiences. As a fully ACGME-accredited PM&R program, we are dedicated to preparing our residents to confidently enter clinical practice, pursue fellowship opportunities or embark on academic careers.

Our freestanding, single-site advanced program is located at our 125-bed rehabilitation hospital in the west suburbs of Chicago. Residents train in a rehabilitation-focused environment committed to high-quality patient care and education.

Most rotations take place on the Marianjoy campus, allowing for a cohesive and integrated learning experience. You'll also participate in select rotations at affiliated sites, including:

  • Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center
  • Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital
  • Loyola University Medical Center
  • Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital
  • Northwestern Medicine Medical Group outpatient locations

These experiences broaden your exposure to different patient populations, subspecialty care and a variety of clinical practice settings while maintaining the close-knit culture and personalized mentorship of a single-site residency program. Nestled amongst nearly 60 acres of trees and healing gardens, Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital offers a welcoming atmosphere that supports both your learning and well-being. Our enriched learning environment, supported by dedicated faculty and program leaders, enhances the overall residency experience.
