Northwestern Memorial Hospital Pharmacy Residency Programs

Northwestern Memorial Hospital is a large academic medical center located in the heart of Chicago, Illinois. Since 1978, the Pharmacy Department has trained pharmacy residents, offering a wealth of resources, a strong network and a commitment to excellence.

We’re proud of our long history in training, and our department currently offers a variety of pharmacy resident programs.

PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program

Our program is ASHP-accredited and offers 10 traditional PGY1 practice resident spots every year.

PGY1 Community-Based Residency Program

This residency program is based in the Northwestern Medicine Specialty Pharmacy and is offering two positions for the 2024 to 2025 residency year.

PGY2 Residency Programs

We offer PGY2 residencies in ambulatory care, cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, hematology/oncology, infectious diseases, medication use safety and policy, and solid organ transplant.

Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Program

We offer one combined PGY1/PGY2 pharmacy residency.
