Who will care for me during my pregnancy and delivery?

Northwestern Medicine Faculty Obstetrics and Gynecology is a group practice. This means you may see different healthcare providers throughout your pregnancy. Our providers’ schedules vary each week. They may be in the office, in the hospital for deliveries or surgery, or working on other administrative, education or research tasks.

We work together to provide you with the best care. Northwestern Medicine prides itself as an academic medical center. For this reason, OB-GYN resident physicians and medical students will be part of your care team. Studies show that academic medical centers provide the best care. One reason for this is having physicians-in-training as part of the healthcare team.

An attending physician will supervise your care. On the day you give birth, the physician on call will manage your labor and delivery. Our team is dedicated to you and your baby.

Our physicians conduct and support research studies through the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. They may ask you to participate in research studies. We encourage you to participate if you can.
